Abashidze Met Schwimmer

Reports say Adjarian leader Aslan Abashidze, who visits Strasbourg, held talks with Walter Schwimmer, the Secretary General of Council of Europe.

Details of talks remain confidential; however, it is known that the presidential elections in Georgia, scheduled for January 4 were discussed during the meeting.

Abashidze threatened earlier to boycott the presidential elections; in case the country?s new authorities do not postpone elections until June.

It is expected that Aslan Abashidze will finally announce his decision over the presidential elections after the talks with State Minister Zurab Zhvania, scheduled after Abashidze return from Strasbourg.
