Abashidze Accused Authorities of Coup Attempt in Adjara

Adjarian leader Aslan Abashidze, who is presently visiting Strasbourg, told reporters that the new leadership of Georgia masterminds military coup against him.

As Georgian media reports, quoting Aslan Abashidze, after inauguration of President-elect Mikheil Saakashvili, the central authorities will do its best to overthrow him.

The Adjarian leader left for Strasbourg on January 20. However, neither the purpose of Abashidze?s visit to Strasbourg, nor the date of his return is unknown so far.
