President Urges for German Help

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, who arrived in Germany from Strasbourg on January 29, held meetings with German Bundestag President Wolfgang Thierse and Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer.

Later in an interview with the German daily Bild, Saakashvili voiced ambitious plans to steer his country towards the level of a candidate country for the European Union in a few years, Deutsche Welle reported.

“For that, we need help, especially from Germany,” he added.
