Journalist Beaten up in Adjara

Vakhtang Komakhidze, journalist working for the Rustavi 2 television, was today severely beaten up in the Khelvachauri district of the Adjara Autonomous Republic, on his way back to Tbilisi.
 
According to eyewitnesses, the journalist was attacked by riot police.

Vakhtang Komakhidze was attacked by group of unknown men after he stopped his own car at the check point at the request of the police.

Editor of the Adjarian newspaper Batumelebi Mzia Amaglobeli, who also accompanied the Rustavi 2 journalist, said the attackers took the camera.
