CEC Chairman: Problems Persist in Adjara Elections

Chairman of the Central Election Commission Zurab Tchiaberashvili says that despite the political agreement between the central authorities and the Adjarian leadership to hold March 28 elections in Adjara, the technical problems might hinder free and fair elections in the region.

Tchiaberashvili said, CEC has not received the accurate voter lists of Adjarian so far; the polling stations and elections administrations are not ready for holding elections in the Autonomous Republic.

“It is rather difficult to do all these in a short period of time,” the CEC Chairman said.
