PM Denies Widespread Violations in Adjara

Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania said after talks with Adjarian leader Aslan Abashidze that there was no “widespread violations during the elections in Adjara.”

“There were some reports regarding the attacks and raids on the polling stations, however these reports were not confirmed,” Zurab Zhvania said.

Earlier, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Zurab Tchiaberashvili announced that unknown group of men attacked two precincts in the Autonomous Republic; however independent reports, as well as Adjarian officials and Prime Minister Zhvania denied the information.
