Burjanadze Called Adjarian Authorities for Dialogue

Chairperson of the outgoing Parliament Nino Burjanadze called on the Adjarian authorities for defusing the tension through a dialogue, adding that the central authoritiesā€™ demands are ā€œjustified.ā€

ā€œThe authorities cannot permit the existence of any illegal checkpoints inside the country, like there is at Choloki [river, which divides Adjara from rest of Georgia]. The authorities cannot permit, that the citizens of Georgia have no right to freely move inside the country. We cannot also tolerate the presence of illegal arms,ā€ Nino Burjanadze told reporters on April 15.
