Adjara to Top New Parliament’s Agenda
Nino Burjanadze, the Chairperson of the outgoing Parliament, told reporters on April 20, that situation in Adjara will be discussed at the very first session of the newly elected Parliament on April 21.
“The Parliament might adopt a special statement regarding the situation in Adjara,” Nino Burjanadze said.
Six deputies elected in Adjarian single-mandate constituencies, which back Adjarian leader Aslan Abashidze boycott the new Parliament and say that they will attend the session only after defusing tensions between Tbilisi and Batumi.
