OSCE Assists to Destroy Arms in Ossetian Conflict Zone
Russian engineers of the peacekeeping troops deployed in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict zone carried out on April 29 the destruction and demolition of weapons and munitions collected under the program implemented by the OSCE Mission to Georgia in the conflict zone.
Items destroyed included one mortar, heavy machine guns, 24 firearms of various types, anti-tank mines as well as ammunition, rockets and grenades.
They had been handed over during the past 18 months by the local population. The destruction process was monitored by OSCE observers.
