Protest Rally in Batumi Demands Abashidze’s Resignation

Students of Batumi University hold a protest rally in the Adjarian capital on May 4, demanding Adjarian leader Aslan Abashidze’s resignation and holding snap elections of the local legislative body. Local students held a protest rally on May 3 as well.

No clashes between the protesters and security forces were reported so far. The local security forces disbanded a protest rally of the opposition on April 30.
