2004 Budget Approved

The Parliament approved on May 11 the state budget for 2004 by 161 votes to 16. The opposition parliamentary faction the Rightist Opposition refused to participate in voting.
 
Revenues are set at 1,7 billion Lari (USD 850 million), and expenditures – 1,4 billion Lari (USD 700 million) – an increase of around 520 million Lari over 2003. GDP growth in 2004 is set at 6%.

Defense budget increases by around 3 million Lari over 2003 and consists 78 million Lari in 2004.
