Communications Commission Chief Resigns
Chairman of the National Regulatory Commission for Communications Vakhtang Abashidze, gave his resignation on June 8.
However, Vakhtang Abashidze refrained from commenting on the reasons behind this resignation.
This is the second time that Vakhtang Abashidze has filed a resignation. His first resignation, motivated by mounting political pressure on the commission which he headed, was rejected by ex-President Eduard Shevardnadze last October.
Former Acting Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Dimitri Kitoshvili will reportedly take over Abashidze?s post.
