Foreign Minister: EU Includes Georgia in ‘Wider Europe’

The European Union included Georgia, along with Armenia and Azerbaijan, in its Wider Europe Neighborhood Initiative, Georgian Foreign Minister Salome Zourabichvili told Civil Georgia on June 15.

“This is one more step towards the European Union,” Salome Zourabichvili added.

The European Commission recommended last month inclusion of Georgia, along with Armenia and Azerbaijan, within the scope of the European Neighborhood Policy, which envisages closer political and economic ties between the enlarged Europe and its neighbors.
