Moscow Calls Tbilisi for Restraint in South Ossetia
Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on June 15 claiming that the Russian peacekeepers deployed in the South Ossetian conflict zone thwarted Tbilisi?s plans to deploy additional troops in the conflict zone.
?Extra troops of the Georgian Interior Ministry were deployed in the conflict zone overnight on June 14-15. The troops were pulled out only after the involvement of the peacekeepers,? the Russian Foreign Ministry statement reads.
Moscow accused Tbilisi of further escalating tensions in the conflict zone and called the Georgian authorities for more restraint.
