Another Official of Breakaway Abkhazia Government Resigns

Gennady Gagulia, chief of Abkhaz de facto President Vladislav Ardzinba’s Administration, filed resignation on June 18, Abkhaz news agency Apsnypress reported. 

Several key officials in de facto Abkhaz government, including the first vice-premier, Astamur Tarba, Foreign Minister Sergei Shamba and Security Service Chief Givi Agrba filed resignation on June 15.

Gennady Gagulia explained decision with the upcoming presidential elections in Abkhazia, scheduled for October.
 
“I think that the representatives of the President’s Administration should not interfere in the elections,” Gennady Gagulia said at a news briefing held on June 18.
