Secretary of the Russian Security Council Igor Ivanov expressed hope that Georgia will settle the problems with breakaway South Ossetia and Abkhazia peacefully.

?Any attempts of force settlement of Abkhaz or South Ossetian conflicts will have far-reaching consequences, first of all, for Georgia,? Ivanov said in an interview with the Russian magazine Itogi on June 21.

?I have an impression that Tbilisi understands it,? Igor Ivanov said referring to the results of his recent talks with Georgian President Saakashvili, Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania and other officials.
