Saakashvili to Push Proposal on Joint Anti-Terrorism Center

During his visit to Moscow on July 2 Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili told reporters that during his talks with Vladamir Putin on July 3 he plans push the idea of setting up a joint Russian-Georgian anti-terrorist center in Georgia.

Georgia has recently proposed the idea of the center to Russia in exchange for the withdrawal of Russia?s two military bases from Georgia.

?The mandates of this anti-terrorist center would cover fighting terrorism and the prevention of terrorism across the borders and in the region. The Russian presence in Georgia in this way is absolutely acceptable for us,? Mikheil Saakashvili said at a news briefing n Moscow.
