Shootout Reported in South Ossetia

Georgian media reported that the Georgian village of Tamarasheni came under fire, initiated from the positions occupied by the South Ossetian side. No casualties have been reported. The South Ossetian side has made no comment regarding the report so far.

The Georgian Inter-Press news agency and Tbilisi-based Imedi television also reported that a shootout occurred between South Ossetian special forces and an unknown armed group in the breakaway region?s capital Tskhinvali overnight on October 15. Authorities in the breakaway region have not commented on these reports.
