Term of Military Service Reduced

On October 26 the Georgian Parliament approved, after a third hearing,  amendments to the Law on Compulsory Military Service, and thus reduced the current 18-month term of military service to 12 months.

Those enrolled in higher education institutions within the Military Departments are exempt from the draft and will still graduate with a military rank.
