Burjanadze Holds Talks with Top Russian Officials
On November 1 Georgian Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze held separate meetings in Moscow with Secretary of the Russian Security Council Igor Ivanov and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Along with bilateral ties, South Ossetian and Abkhazian conflict resolution issues were discussed during the talks between Nino Burjanadze and Sergey Lavrov, according to an information note issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry.
During the talks with Secretary of the National Security Council both Igor Ivanov and Nino Burjanadze expressed a readiness to develop ?constructive dialogue? between the two countries, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
?There are particular agreements; however difficulties in the relations still exist. I hope that further relations between our countries will proceed in a normal atmosphere,? Nino Burjanadze told reporters.
?We witness positive dynamics of a dialogue between our countries [Russia and Georgia]; we always supported a dialogue and think that this is the only way for the settlement of current problems,? Igor Ivanov told reporters before the talks with Nino Burjanadze.
