Governor Enrolled in Reserve Forces

Governor of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region Gigi Ugulava will undergo three-weeks of military training in a reservist battalion deployed in Sachkhere, a region of Imereti in western Georgia.

Several Georgian MPs underwent training at the reserve forces camp in Osiauri last month.

A new training field for the reservist battalion was opened on November 9 in the vicinity of the South Ossetian conflict zone in the village of Dzevera.

Earlier in October President Saakashvili said Georgia will train more than 10,000 reserve troops by the end of 2005.
