Georgia Celebrates First Anniversary of ‘Rose Revolution’

A year has passed since new authorities came to power in Georgia, following the peaceful ouster of ex-President Shevardnadze on November 23.

Several solemn measures are scheduled in Georgia on this day. President Saakashvili, Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania and Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze have already attended the official ceremony of the consecration of the Holly Trinity Cathedral on Mount Elia.

Later on November 23 a public concert, “Let’s Remember,” will be held in front of the Mayor’s Office in the center of Tbilisi.
