Rotation of CIS Peacekeepers Launched in Abkhaz Conflict Zone

A planned rotation of the peacekeeping troops deployed in Georgia?s breakaway Abkhazia under the aegis of the Commonwealth of Independent States was launched on November 27, RIA Novosti reports quoting the press service of the CIS peacekeeping troops.


The CIS peacekeeping troops will replace the 500-strength contingent and conduct a planned delivery of armament, armored vehicles and equipment.


The rotation process is being conducted under an agreement achieved within the frames of the Group of Military Observers and CIS Peacekeeping Troops deployed in the conflict area.
