Blasts Rock Sokhumi
Four separate explosions hit the breakaway Abkhaz capital Sokhumi overnight on December 6 but no casualties were reported, according to the Russian news agencies.
Sokhumi police official Otar Khatsia told RIA Novosti news agency that the blasts, equivalent to 200-300 grams of TNT each, occurred in 20 minute intervals.
?The explosions are aimed at destabilization the situation,? Sokhumi police official added.
The blasts occurred in the Abkhaz capital after news broke that the two rival presidential contenders Sergey Bagapsh and Raul Khajimba agreed to work on one team and hold repeat elections in which Bagapsh will run as a President and Khajimba as a Vice-President.
