CRINGO Network Presentation
On December 10, 2004 the Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel hosted a presentation of the Caucasian Refugee and IDP NGO Network “CRINGO.”
The CRINGO network was officially inaugurated in September 2002 in Sochi, Russia. It is a voluntary, independent, non-commercial and non-political organization based on the territory of the Caucasus which works with refugees, IDP and other persons with a similar status.
Through four main focal-points (Baku, Stavropol, Tbilisi, Yerevan) the CRINGO Network includes more than 60 non-governmental organizations from the South and North Caucasus.
Since 2002 the CRINGO Network has implemented about 30 regional projects. In addition, several regional actions have also been arranged which were dedicated to world refugee and knowledge days.
The key mission of the presentation was the dissemination of information regarding access to the Network’s activities and acknowledging regional cooperation as a top priority.
The presentation consisted of three parts:
(1) Providing information regarding the Network’s activities;
(2) Awarding the children who won the Network initiative ‘Day of Knowledge’;
(3) Information concerning future plans and activities of the Network.
The invited guests included representatives from international agencies, local governmental structures, the media and various NGOs.
