Abkhaz Chief Prosecutor Sacked

Outgoing President of breakaway Abkhazia Vladislav Ardzinba dismissed General Prosecutor of the unrecognized republic Rauf Korua, the Abkhaz news agency Apsnipress reported on December 17.

Korua has been sacked by Ardzinba for the second time in the past two months. In October, the Abkhaz President fired Korua for siding with opposition leader Sergey Bagapsh. However, the Abkhaz Parliament condemned the President?s decision and restored Korua to the post.
