Russia Ready to Mediate Georgian-Abkhaz Talks

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Yakovenko said, on January 14, that the end of the political crisis in has Abkhazia enabled  a renewal of peace talks between Tbilisi and Sokhumi.

?Russia will further continue its mediation efforts in this regard,? the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

?At this point, it is of vital importance to carry out measures aiming at increasing mutual trust between the conflicting sides in different aspects of relations, including in economy,? Alexander Yakovenko said.
