Two Kidnapped Georgians Released in Abkhazia

Two Georgians were released on January 15 after spending four days in detention in the Gali district of breakaway Abkhazia.


These two Georgians were among a number of civilians who were kidnapped on January 11 after an armed group, described by Georgian officials as ?Abkhaz criminals,? raided the village of Ganmukhuri in the Zugdidi district of the Samegrelo region, at the administrative border with Abkhazia.


Earlier, the Abkhaz side released nine of kidnapped persons on January 12.
