Saakashvili Met with Parliamentary Majority Leaders

President Saakashvili met with MPs of the parliamentary majority from the ruling National Movement party on January 18.

Chairperson of the parliamentary majority MP Maia Nadiradze told reporters that this was a routine working meeting with the President to discuss general situation in the country.

However, the Georgian media speculates that Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly?s draft resolution topped the agenda of the meeting. Along with the positive sides of the Saakashvili?s administration the draft resolution also voices criticism stating that ?the post-revolutionary situation should not become an alibi for hasty decisions and neglect for democratic and human rights standards.?

Georgian President accompanied by the Georgian parliamentary delegation will leave for Strasbourg to participate in the PACE session reportedly on January 23.
