Saakashvili to Address South Ossetia with Peace Proposal

In an interview to the Russian newspaper Argumenty i Fakty published on January 19, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said that he will address Ossetian population on January 21 and unveil South Ossetian peace plan.


?This [peace plan] will be unprecedented proposal over peace settlement of the conflict,? Mikheil Saakashvili said.


?I offered non-governmental organization of Georgia to develop in cooperation with the Abkhaz and Ossetian non-governmental organizations plan over federal relationship [between Tbilisi-Sokhumi and Tbilisi-Tskhinvali]. I am sure they [NGOs] will deal with this better than the governments, because they are more courageous than the governments,? the Georgian President added.


Mikheil Saakashvili intends to speak about Tbilisi?s proposal over Abkhazia and South Ossetian peace plans at the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly session in Strasbourg on January 26.
