JCC Session Starts in Tskhinvali

Special session of the quadripartite Joint Control Commission (JCC), involving representatives of the Georgian, Russian, South Ossetian and Russia?s North Ossetian sides, started on January 24 in South Ossetian capital Tskhinvali to discuss recent tensions in the conflict zone, which sparked after series of kidnappings organized by the both sides.

?Everything should be solved through cooperation [between the sides]. This [hostage-taking] incident proves once again that closer cooperation of the law enforcement agencies is needed to curb crime. We should not mix crime with politics,? Goga Khaindrava, Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues, who represents the Georgian side in the JCC, told reporters on January 24.
