Vitol Group Interested in Batumi Oil and GasTerminals
Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania stated that a delegation from the multinational Vitol Group arrived to Georgia on January 25 and expressed interest in privatizing the oil and gas terminal infrastructure in Batumi.
Several piers of the Batumi port, the oil terminal, liquid gas storage and oil processing plant are open for bidding as a single item in Georgia’s ongoing privatisation process.
The Vitol Group was founded in the 1960s in Rotterdam and currently trades oil and other hydrocarbons resulting in a production of about 46.7 billion USD.
Vitol currently operates six terminals worldwide: in United Arab Emirates (Fuijairah), China (West Zhuhai and Zhanjiang), Argentina (Buenos Aires region), India (Mumbai) and Russia (Kaliningrad).
