Officials Rule Out Appointment of Georgia’s Envoy to Russia as PM
The Georgian President’s spokesperson Alana Gagloeva denied reports that Georgia’s Ambassador to Russia, Valeri Chechelashvili, is being considered by the President as one of the possible candidates for the Prime Minister’s position.
“However, we don’t rule out that Valeri Chechelashvili might be offered a post in the government,” Alana Gagloeva said. Gagloeva did not, however, specify which position might be offered to the Georgian Ambassador.
The President’s spokesperson declined commenting on unofficial reports that Russian-based Georgian businessman Levan Vasadze is also among those persons being considered for the PM’s position.
