Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin held phone talks on May 26 and discussed the results of recent talks between Georgian and Russian sides in Tbilisi over pull out of military bases from Georgia, the Russian President?s press office reported.
President Putin noted that a compromise decision over the timeframe of pullout, which has almost been reached, envisages withdrawal of military bases in ?organized and civilized manner,? according to the Russian President?s press office.
Talks between the officials from the Georgian and Russian Foreign Ministry were held in Tbilisi on May 23-24. The both sides cited progress, but admitted that no final date of bases? withdrawal is yet agreed.
