Georgia Detains Two Russian Peacekeepers

Two servicemen of the Russian peacekeeping forces stationed in the Abkhaz conflict zone were arrested by the Georgian law enforcers on September 30 in Georgia?s Zugdidi district, at the administrative border with breakaway Abkhazia.


According to the Constitutional Security Department of the Georgian Interior Ministry, the two Russian peacekeepers were arrested for alleged illegal selling of smuggled fuel in the Zugdidi district. The Russian side has not yet commented on this arrest.
