UN to Discuss Abkhazia

The UN Security Council will discuss the situation in Abkhazia at a closed-door session on July 26.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon?s report on Abkhazia will be discussed, according to the Security Council?s daily schedule posted on its website.

A report by the UN Observer Mission in Georgia (UNOMIG) on the March 11 attack on the Tbilisi-controlled upper Kodori Gorge, according to Georgian media sources on July 26, will also be on the agenda.

Irakli Alasania, Permanent Representative of Georgia to the United Nations, will convene a press conference following the Security Council session.
