Foreign Minister Meets NATO Leadership
Gela Bezhuashvili, the Georgian foreign minister, met with NATO Secretary-General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer in Brussels on September 4.
The Georgian state minister for Euro-Atlantic integration issues, Giorgi Baramidze, was also present.
Bezhuashvili told Mze TV that a meeting with the North Atlantic Council, the alliance?s governing body, was also held.
?We have briefed [the Council] about ongoing reforms in Georgia; questions were not even asked about the reforms, because it is clear to everyone that the reforms have been carried out successfully,? the foreign minister said. ?There were, however, questions concerning our ties with neighboring countries, our internal politics, as well as about the August 6 missile incident.?
