Sokhumi Plans Commission to Oversee Investments

Breakaway Abkhaz authorities are planning to set up a special commission to oversee investment projects in the region, Sergey Bagapsh, the Abkhaz leader, said.

The Abkhaz leader?s press office reported on September 18 that the commission, to be chaired by Bagapsh, would consider all projects proposed by foreign investors.

Bagapsh said that to increase transparency the commission would also involve civil society representatives.
