‘Complaints should be Addressed’ – Burjanadze

Nino Burjanadze, the acting president, said on January 11 that all alleged violations of election procedures should be addressed by the courts and the election administrations.

β€œI call on the election administrations and the courts to deal with all the complaints filed [in connection with the election process]. These complaints should be considered objectively and an appropriate ruling should be issued. There should be a response to each complaint,” Burjanadze told journalists.

The acting president’s remarks follow protests by the opposition and a local election observer organization, Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association (GYLA), who have claimed that their complaints were ignored by the District Election Commissions without even considering them.
