Zourabichvili Says Ruling Party Real Opponents in Elections
Leader of the opposition Georgia?s Way party Salome Zourabichvili said on September 15 that her party has a ?real chance? for success in the October 5 local self-governance elections, but added that the ruling National Movement party will be a serious competitor.
?We are a real opposition with a real program… We want to protect and revive Georgia rather than to simply gain a victory,? she said.
Zourabichvili was speaking at a presentation of her party?s candidates for the Tbilisi City Council – Sakrebulo membership.
She downplayed the decision of some activists to quit the Georgia?s Way party after accusing Zourabichvili of a unilateral management style.
?This is a healthy process and an expression of the high-level of freedom in the party,? Zourabichvili said.
