Powell, Saakashvili Discussed South Ossetia
On July 9 President Saakashvili held a phone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell and U.S. National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice over recent crisis in Georgia?s breakaway South Ossetia, according to the Georgian President?s administration.
Earlier on July 8 Colin Powell discussed South Ossetian crisis with Georgian Premier Zurab Zhvania and then with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
President Saakashvili also held spoke with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on July 9 and discussed situation in the breakaway region.
