Saakashvili Leaves for London

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili left on July 12 for a three day visit to London.

Meetings with Prime Minister Tony Blair, UK Defense Secretary Geoffrey Hoon and the Queen Elizabeth II are scheduled during the visit.

The Georgian President said on July 11 that the visit will be held despite tensions in the breakaway South Ossetia.

?International support is of vital importance to Georgia, especially now. That is why my visit to London is very important and it will not be postponed,? Mikheil Saakashvili told reporters.
