Georgia Wants to Boost Military Cooperation with Israel
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili told reporters after visiting Israeli military industry complexes on July 29 that Georgia should boost its military cooperation with Israel.
The Georgian delegation, led by President Saakashvili and accompanied by Defense Minister Giorgi Baramidze, visited Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI), Israel Military Industries (IMI) and Elbit Systems, which develops advanced defense electronic systems.
The Georgian state-run Aircraft Factory, which is put-up for privatization, has already been cooperating with Elbit Systems.
The Georgian Aircraft Factory is producing four modifications of the Su 25 battle support aircraft. The most modern modification is Su 25 ?Scorpio,? which is designed in cooperation with Israeli Elbit.
