Georgia Adequately Responds to Russia’s Harsh Statements
The Georgian Foreign Ministry raised concerns regarding recent statements in which “along with unacceptable terminology, the facts are distorted” by the Russian Foreign Ministry. Among these concerns was the harsh criticism by the Russian Foreign Ministry following the Georgian authorities’ warning against the unauthorized operation of foreign vessels in its territorial waters.
The Russian Foreign Ministry warned on August 4 that “any attempts to harm, or moreover, threaten the lives of Russian citizens would be duly repelled.”
The Georgian Foreign Ministry reminded the Russian side that Abkhazia and its territorial waters fall under the jurisdiction of Georgia. So, Georgia has the full right to establish control over these territories.
