Rotation of the Georgian peacekeeping troops deployed in the South Ossetian conflict area was launched on August 6.
The Georgian peacekeeping troops will replace the internal troops deployed at the Georgian checkpoints of Eredvi, Dvani and Koda.
The rotation process is being conducted under an agreement achieved within the frames of the Joint Peacekeeping Troops (Georgian, Russian, North Ossetian) deployed in the conflict area, according to which each party can have up-to 500 peacekeepers in the breakaway region.
