Georgian Foreign Ministry Protests Attack on PM
The Georgian Foreign Ministry raised concern over the opening of fire towards the convoy carrying Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania on the road between the Georgian villages of Eredvi and Achabeti in breakaway South Ossetia.
?This provocative attack occurred exactly at the moment when the Georgian Authorities came out with peaceful initiatives and strong a urging for direct dialogue,? the statement issued on August 14 reads.
The Georgian Foreign Ministry calls on friendly and partner states, as well as international organizations, to give an adequate assessment of the ongoing processes in the Tskhinvali region and to further support the peaceful path chosen by the Georgian authorities.
