JCC to Meet in Tbilisi

The Joint Control Commission (JCC), a quadripartite body involving the Georgian, South Ossetian, Russian and North Ossetian sides, will hold a session in Tbilisi on August 17 with the participation of Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania.

It is expected that the issue of possible direct talks between Premier Zhvania and South Ossetian de facto President Eduard Kokoev will be discussed during the JCC session.

Zurab Zhvania downplayed the role of JCC on August 16 and insisted on holding direct negotiations with the separatists? leader.
