BTC Security Exercises Launched in Azerbaijan

Officers from Georgian, Turkey and Azerbaijan hold joint command and control exercise in Azerbaijan to increase security guarantees for the strategic Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline.

According to the Georgian Defense Ministry only 5 Georgian officers, instead of planned 16, participate in the exercises, because of tensions in Georgia?s breakaway South Ossetia.

Annual BTC security exercises are held since 1998. Joint exercise are planned to take place in Georgia next year.
