Sokhumi Sets Condition to Resume Talks with Tbilisi
The issue of possible resumption of talks between Georgian and Abkhaz sides was discussed during the talks between Acting Prime Minister of breakaway Abkhazia Astamur Tarba and UN Secretary General?s Special Representative to Georgia, Heidi Tagliavini in Sokhumi on September 14, the Abkhaz news agency Apsnypress reported.
The Abkhaz side announced in July that it pulls out from talks with the Georgian side, after the Georgian coast guard seized a Turkish ship in the Abkhaz section of territorial waters of Georgia.
The Abkhaz acting Prime Minister did not ruled out that Sokhumi might continue talks with Tbilisi only after the UN condemns the fact of, as the Abkhaz side put it, violation of Abkhazian territorial waters by the Georgian coast guard vessels.
?Our requirements are logical, since in a post-war period the international community has never evaluated properly the provocative actions of the Georgian side in the territorial waters of Abkhazia,? Abkhaz news agency Apsnypress reports quoting Tarba.
