UK Special Representative to Georgia Visits Tskhinvali

Sir Brian Fall, the United Kingdom’s Special Representative to Georgia, visited the breakaway South Ossetian capital of Tskhinvali on September 23 and held talks with the leadership of the self-styled republic.

The Special Representative was accompanied in his trip to Tskhinvali by British Ambassador to Georgia Donald MacLaren and Head of the OSCE Mission to Georgia Ambassador Roy Reeve. The delegation met with the South Ossetian de facto Foreign Minister Murat Jioyev and South Ossetian Parliament?s speaker Znaur Gasiyev.

According to the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee, at the meeting Znaur Gasiyev reiterated South Ossetia?s readiness to continue its negotiations with the Georgian side.
